Why has Lamberts chosen Bovine not Marine sourced Chondroitin

Chondroitin is a substance that occurs naturally in the connective tissues of people and animals. As a supplement in higher doses than is found naturally, chondroitin is a popular treatment for osteoarthritis.

Chondroitin is typically sourced from shark species and we’re not satisfied that this is a renewable resource. Lamberts is also concerned by reports of how cruel the shark fishing industry is. Worldwide demand for shark cartilage has meant the depletion of the global shark population and sadly the loss of many of these beautiful creatures from our oceans. For this reason Lamberts has chosen to switch to bovine chondroitin for their chondroitin supplement as this is a by-product of the beef industry and a well regulated, high quality material. The bovine chondroitin Lamberts uses is a highly refined material made to GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) and USP (United States Pharmacopeia) standards, in a European approved manufacturing facility.
