Amino Acids
Amino acids are essential organic compounds found in both food and the proteins in our bodies. They are divided into both substitutable ones, which our body can produce, and essential ones, which our body cannot synthesise. Essential amino acids must be obtained by the body from food or from a dietary supplement. Every cell in our body uses and needs amino acids to function normally – for example, muscles, skin, tendons, ligaments, organs, glands, nails, hair, etc. These essential amino acids can be obtained from food.
