Iodine
Iodine is a mineral naturally found in soil and ocean water. Even though our bodies need very small amounts of iodine, it plays a vital role in our health and well-being. The most important role of iodine is to ensure the proper functioning of the thyroid gland – it helps regulate the production of the thyroid hormones thyroxine and triiodothyronine. These hormones control the body’s metabolism and many other important functions.
